Description

Coquina Beach is a small, family-friendly complex with only 40 units located on Middle Gulf Drive. 5E is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom second floor walk-up (sorry, no elevator) unit that can comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests. There are 2 bedrooms plus a loft that has 2 twin beds for additional sleeping space. The loft is open to the living area, which gives an open and airy feel. You and your guests will enjoy this beautiful unit with updated kitchen featuring granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The living room has a large smart HDTV with Netflix and both bedrooms have a flat screen TV. The owner provides beach chairs and an umbrella for your convenience. Coquina Beach complex amenities include: a heated pool, gas grills and a tennis court. *Please note: Only 1 parking spot per unit. While the location and size of the property was great, we were very disappointed in the overall cleanliness and condition of things in the rental- carpet, couch that literally sinks to the floor, dirty guest bath sink, and a cockroach in the master bedroom. Numerous people left similar review over the summer yet it appears nothing has been done. Had these things been addressed long ago when brought up by other renters, we would have most likely booked this place for next year.

We enjoyed our stay. Overall the unit was fine. We especially liked the kitchen and master bedroom. However, the furniture, especially the sofa was old, uncomfortable and dirty. The several of the beach chairs were unusable. Again, we enjoyed our stay, the cooler was a nice touch! It just seems like the unit needs an update and purge of used itemd

Overall we love this place. This is the second time We’ve stayed in this condo and everything has been great. We love the updated and spacious kitchen and enjoy the short walk to the beach. The only complaints I have is that the couch is a little dated and the rental company has given me the wrong code to get in both years now. I have to call to get the correct code, but this has been an easy process both times.

After having stayed at other Coquina properties for 10+ years this was a disappointment! The furniture is dirty and extremely worn as well as the carpet in the bedrooms. The couch is as if it was picked up at good will. The shower curtain was moldy in the guest bath. The property management company did come and change out the shower curtain, replaced the refrig filter and were going to work on the swinging ceiling fan in the loft.

Rental unit was great. Beautiful kitchen and bathrooms. Comfortable beds and easy walk to the beach. We would stay here again if needed. Only disappointment was the beach chairs that were for guests. We bought our own as the 2 that were there were slightly ripped and didn’t recline. Other than that we enjoyed every bit of our stay.

This was our families first trip to Sanibel Island. We had a great trip. We found the property to be accurately described, the property was clean and very well maintained, we enjoyed the pool at the facility, the walk to the beach was short, and great proximity to the bike path and restaurants. The service provided by Sanibel Holiday at check in was very helpful. Seems like they thought of everything to ensure their clients have a great experience. I would recommend this property to another family.

Overall we enjoyed the unit listing comments below. For the average beach group comments may not be an issue. In full transparency we are not beach people so we came to enjoy the weather not the beach so we spent more time in the unit/pickleball court then most people would.
Comments:
Location to beach and island location for easy come and good.
Pickelball / Tennis court right out the front door.
Well equipped kitchen and dish setup but could use new larger skillet we cooked all but one meal in the unit for a family of 4.
Nice TV and Internet speed setup
Sofa needs to be replaced, MBR and loft Beds are below average.
Units kitchen has been upgraded but the rest of the unit has aged and could use some refreshing.

Rental property was wonderful. It was clean and had a wonder view balcony. It had everything we needed.The only problem i had with the property was with worn out furniture and a toilet that would that was 50 year old and would not flush.You would have to plunge it 3 or 4 times to flush.

Wonderful location for a family vacation. Our family of 5 adults / teens enjoyed staying at this property. The upstairs area offers no privacy / access to the bathroom, so maybe better suited to a child than a teenager, but this was apparent from the photos. Sanibel is a wonderful place to vacation, especially during the pandemic, as we were able to spend most of our time either in our own apartment, or outside on the beach, which is within easy walking distance. This property is run by a rental agency, not a private Airbnb owner, so you have to go via the rental office and sign a contract beforehand. There were two maintenance issues scheduled during our week's stay, but overall the property is in reasonable condition and the rental agency personnel polite and helpful.

We had a great time! The condo was in a great location! Was very comfortable for 5 adults. The kitchen was fully stocked so we were able to cook some meals. We really enjoyed the pool. The area is quiet, but close to all the restaurant! We will definitely rent it again!

We had a great experience with this unit. We had a total of five persons - three adults and two teenagers. The unit is spacious, well equipped, close to the beach, staff was great. It was an overall great vacation experience.

This is our 2nd year renting this particular unit and it is well maintained and clean. It was again, a very relaxing experience for the five of us. We will rent this unit again next year if it is available. Only one complaint and that is the sofa is extremely uncomfortable to sit on. We gave it a three rating only because the sofa needs to be replaced but everything else is tip top.

The condo is in excellent location to the beach, about a minute walk and very easy and close. There was not one time that we didn't have what we needed, whether it be kitchen utensils or beach equipment, this condo had everything we needed. Property is very clean and overall well maintained though a few very small things could use some attention like the showerheads need cleaned or replaced and some of the bedding is dated but overall these weren't things that kept us from enjoying the condo.

Being able to walk to beach a big plus. The. Beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. were nice to have. Eating out on Lania was OK, except for view of parking lot. Kitchen supplies were excellent. Mattresses in twin room need replacement. Attention to detail regarding cleanliness needs to be addressed. Overall family enjoyed the unit and had a good time. My biggest negative is no beach view.

You can't go wrong spending a week on Sanibel Island and this comfy condo has everything you need to have a super relaxing week: a very short walk to the beach, three bedrooms with extra beds for kids, beach chairs and toys, well-equipped kitchen, washer/dryer in kitchen, grill just down the stairs, pool 30 seconds away, books, games, two TVs, and super-helpful Sanibel Holiday staff check on you to make sure all is well.

Our family stay at Coquina Beach 5E was wonderful. I especially liked the loft so no one had to sleep on the sofa. The kitchen was beautiful and well equipped. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Location was perfect. The beach was a few steps many restaurants and activities so close by. My only recommendation would be to upgrade the furniture in the living room. Yes, I would recommend this property to family and friends.

This 2nd floor condo is located very close to the beach, a quick walk of less than 5 minutes. The kitchen and bathrooms are all updated with new showers, granite counter tops and white cabinets. Unfortunately the master bed needs to be updated as well, as we found it to be quite soft and lumpy. New master bed linens would also be an upgrade.
The listing on VRBO states "there is a reserved parking space for our unit" but does not elaborate that only ONE parking space is available per unit, with ONE guest space for the entire complex. This was problematic for us but fortunately Sanibel Holiday was able to find a solution.
Bonuses include: many beach chairs, various toys and shelling equipment; Smart TV in living room. Walls are very thin, so we enjoyed all the conversations our neighbors had all week too.

We arrived late Saturday afternoon and picked up our key using the sanibel holiday app. The condo was very nice and spacious. We went down to the beach and it was beautiful. With the info at the condo we were able to find all sorts of things to do on the island. Can't wait to return!!!
